Meeting to discuss development. Other issues to wait till next week.
Present
- dan
- kim
- krusty-tranny
- lordrich
- statto
Agenda
- Discuss services page, one at a time. Talk about How, What and Who for each one. Think about how services integrate with other services, where/how we store a user database, whether we can use external services for some of them (eg. getsatisfaction.com for support).
- Do we need to use all open source?
- Talk about modules and what content types we want to create within Drupal, which will depend upon how we do moderation etc.
- Discuss how the site's been setup, and a Subversion intro for those of us used to CVS repositories
- Decide priority of what we develop first (ease of implementation, importance, dependencies etc)
Minutes
- We will use open source where possible.
- Given lack of modules for D6, we will use D5 for now.
- We will be discerning in our module choice to avoid too much work for ourselves when we come to upgrade - picking too many badly coded modules that have lost other developer support would be bad. Good modules will be ported anyway, so if we have a high quality control we should be fine.
- Use Trac for version control.
- We will alternate dev and process meetings.
Modules to implement
- We will use Markdown with smartypants and see if our beta testers like it, rather than rich text (with all its semantic issues) for now.
- Spam module for spam.
- To add: pauthauto, xmlsitemap, invite, printer friendly pages, porter stemmer, devel, views and cck.
- Try hidden, modr8 and workflow, and see which we like best
- Don't worry about panels until we identify a need for it
- install organic groups and multisite manager and have a play
Action
- kim will install d5 and trac and install site wide modules (authauto, xmlsitemap, invite, printer friendly pages, porter stemmer, devel, views and cck.)
- lordrich will look at OG and multisite manager, as well as continuing mailman integration research & testing.
- dan to look at calendars and help with site wide modules
- kim & lordrich to investigate mysql subversion integration
