About me

Currently doing a PhD at Salford university tentatively titled "Soundscapes, Gender and the Built Environment". Have chronic fatigue issues so wanted to still be involved with stuff but from a comfy seat at home! I initiated this project out of a feeling of a lack of communication between queers, and the need for more, non commercial, good quality sources of information on the internet.

Been involved in the queer and feminist scene a long time, in Queer Mutiny North and Manifesta (Leeds) but frustrated about the lack of continuity, discussion and documentation. Now involved in running a monthly queer cafe in Manchester (first sunday of the month at the LGBT center).

Technical skills

Reasonable at php and mysql. Know a lot about Drupal, but hoping to get actively involved in module development as this project goes on! Just need that final push into the dark world of patches and bug reports.

Recruited by Kim, Manchester-based genderqueer troublemaker, activist, filmmaker, gender warrior... Have basic knowledge of Wikis and HTML, hoping to learn more by getting involved, currently in the process of updating Get Bent Manchester site with Drupal and after various stop-start hit'n'misses of organising movements, campaigns and gatherings, it would be grand to have our own Queer Portal with links and input from the Queer Community to make thigns happen...
